Patiala schools switch to online mode after hand, foot and mouth disease spread

Schoolgoing children in the Patiala have started reporting hand, foot, and mouth disease. The viral infection, which is highly contagious and seen in pre-primary children, has led to some schools in the city going online for a few days to break the chain of infection.

Hand-foot-and-mouth disease — a mild, contagious viral infection common in young children — is characterized by sores in the mouth and a rash on the hands and feet. Hand-foot-and-mouth disease is most commonly caused by a coxsackievirus. There’s no specific treatment for hand-foot-and-mouth disease.

Good morning Parents,
As a precautionary measure to curtail the spread of HFM disease the school will remain closed from 9.8.22 – 15.8.22.
