MP:Patwari eats bribe money when caught red-handed
In a startling event that unfolded on Monday in the Katni district of Madhya Pradesh, a local patwari named Gajendra Singh was captured by the Lokayukta police for accepting a ₹5,000 bribe. Infamously known for maintaining land records and collecting revenue in rural areas, it seems the patwari’s tricks knew no bounds when he decided to chew and swallow the same bribe money when the law enforcement trapped him.
Every bit of this peculiar episode was caught on camera and soon made its rounds on the internet. The viral video clearly showed Singh stuffing five hundred rupee notes into his mouth and chewing them incessantly. The police, stunned by Singh’s audacious act, quickly escorted him to the hospital. Despite the hospital personnel’s attempts to retrieve the money, Singh swallowed every last bit except for a few torn remnants of the original nine ₹500 notes.
