Mass resignations by Punjabi University Patiala faculty

The mass resignations by the faculty of the Punjabi University faculty, holding additional charges along with their regular teaching has created a big deadlock. As 28 of its top officials including the Dean of academic affairs,the registrar and the heads of the 8 academic departments.

The demand for promotion by 105 faculty members is very genuine and the matter should be resolved at the earliest.
Prof. Pankaj Mohindru told the press that the auxiliary twenty-point checklist designed for the faculty promotions of Punjabi University in the future is not at all tolerable and is a gross violation of UGC rules and regulations.
