The Third Edition of “Career Fair-2021” at SGPC’s Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University

The World University organised the third edition of the annual “Career Fair-2021” on 27th August, 2021 on a large scale in collaboration with The District Bureau of Employment and Enterprise, Fatehgarh Sahib (Punjab Govt.). Dr. Prit Pal Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the University in a press conference briefed that this Career Fair has benefited the majority of the students. He appreciated the overwhelming response to the job fair. He also informed that the students, in a large number from Punjab, Haryana, and other states have been successfully placed in many reputed companies through this fair.

Prof. (Dr.) S.S. Billing, Dean Academic Affairs congratulated the Department for the success of the event. Prof. (Dr.) C. Rajesh, Professor In Charge, Placements thanked Ms Rupinder Kaur, District Employment Generation and Skills Development Officer and appreciated the support of Ms. Rupinder Kaur in making this event a success. He also applauded the untiring efforts of the staff of the University. He further informed that in total 18 companies participated, out of which 12 companies conducted On-Campus recruitment process and other 6 opted for online mode to interview the students. Around 1000 students from various Universities and Colleges of Punjab, Haryana and other states participated in the fair.

Companies which made recruitments are Cinif Technologies, HDFC Life Insurance, ICICI Bank, IDS, Impinge Solutions, Knocial India Limited, LIC, Pepcoding Solutions, Tiwana Oil Mills, Vista Foods, Spectraforce etc. They recruited the students of Post graduate & Under graduate courses in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Sciences, Biotechnology, Food Processing Technology), MBA, M.Com, BBA, B.Com, MCA, BCA, Chemistry, Agriculture, Engineering Diploma and ITI and Medical Graduates (Physiotherapy, Microbiology, B Pharma, Botany, MLT, Biology, Biomedical, etc.). Companies offered packages up to 9.5 lakhs to the selected students.
