The Punjab Health Department has issued new guidelines for schools as a precaution against corona infection. Under these, schools will be closed for 14 days if more than two cases of infection are found. Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu has directed the civil surgeons to keep an eye on the schools.
The Health Minister said that it is the responsibility of the school administrators to make their teachers, staff and students aware of the preventive measures against COVID-19. Schools should implement a stay-at-home policy when sick. It should also be ensured that students or staff who have come in contact with COVID-19 patients stay at home for 14 days. If a case of Covid is confirmed in a class, then the class will be closed and the teacher and students will be sent to isolation for 14 days. If two or more cases of Kovid-19 are found in the school then the school will be closed for 14 days. He said that if one-third of the schools in a city or town or block were closed, all schools in that area would be closed.

Schools will have to give information about corona infection daily

The department has instructed the school heads that they will upload the information related to corona infection every day on the e-Punjab portal. Along with government schools, other schools in the state will also have to follow these instructions. After the second wave, there is now a danger of a third wave of Corana virus in the state.

Looking at the figures of the last two days, there has been an increase in the number of new cases of infection. Schools have been fully opened in the state on August 2. However, the government has given strict instructions to the schools to adopt the guidelines issued by the Center. Even after this, there is concern about the safety of the students and teachers coming to the school.

Amidst all this, in relation to Corona, the Education Department has instructed the heads of government, recognized, private aided and private schools to send all the information of students, teachers and other staff online every day.
According to the spokesperson of the Education Department, complete information of the test, vaccination, Covid positive staff and students of Covid-19 has been asked to be uploaded on the e-Punjab portal. Its objective is to monitor the corona epidemic on a day-to-day basis and take timely steps when needed.
