Cars carrying milk cake raided in Patiala

An Emergency Raid was conducted by Food Safety Team(Patiala) today (16.10.2021) evening on a complaint lodged by Police(SHO Zulkan). 2 vehicles (Eco n Bolero)carried about 4.8 Quintals of milk cake. 2 samples were taken.These samples will be sent to Food Lab Kharar for testing.

No Body Would Be Allowed To Compromise with the Health of the People – DC Sandeep Hans

Patiala, October 16:

Taking tough stance to adulteration, Food Safety team collected samples of milk cake from two vehicles, today, evening. The vehicles were intercepted by Julka police station.
Divulging the details, deputy commissioner, Sandeep Hans said that as per information received from PS Julka, a team led by District Health Officer Dr Shally and comprising Food Safety Officers Gagandeep Kaur and Puneet Sharam, immediately rushed to the site and collected samples of the milk cake that was procured from outside state for supply in the district. He said that till the analysis of samples collected from the vehicles, the milkcake in question would be kept under observation in a safe environment in police custody. After that, it would be decided as per the results of samples.
He said that this was the second such case in the district during this fortnight, in which samlpes of sweets have been collected to ensure the quality standards as prescribed by the state government, in wake of festive seasons.
Earlier a tempo carrying Petha was intercepted by Shambhu Police on October 4 and samples were collected to check whether the quality is upto mark or not, said, District Health Officer, Dr Shally. She said that though the samples analysed at food safety lab found satisfactory on later on, but we are taking extra care of health of the people in wake of festive season.
Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Hans said that the Health department and food safety teams have been directed to not to allow adulteration in food and no body would be spared, if found guilty and indulged in adulteration.
He made an appeal to the food business operators and sweet shop owners of the district to not to compromise with the quality of their food preparations to ensure proper health of the people.
