World University Organises Medical and Blood Donation Camps dedicated to Sri Guru Nanak Dev JiA week long celebrations of prakash purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji has started with the inaugural of Medical camp organised by the Department of Physiotherapy. The camp was inaugurated by Prof. Ajaib Singh Brar, Hon. Pro-Chancellor of the University. Doctors from various fields gave free of cost consultation to the patients. Dr. Nirmal Bhasin (Gynae and Infertility Specialist), Dr. Abhinash Paul (Pulmonologist) and Dr. Prabhleen Kaur (Dentist) from Medisquare Multispeciality Hospital, Mohali, Dr Pankajpreet Singh (Department Incharge, Physiotherapy), Dr Ajay Kumar (Assistant Professor, Physiotherapy) and Dr Sartaz Singh (Homeopathy Physician) provided their services  for the camp. About one hundred patients were benefited from the camp. The Department of Physiotherapy in collaboration with NSS, also organized a blood donation camp. For the blood donation camp a team of doctors and supporting staff from Rajindra Medical College and Hospital, Patiala visited the University.

Dr. Brar, the Pro-Chancellor of the University congratulated the Department for the successful organisation of the camps. He said that blood donation is the one of the greatest donation. He added that It is a matter of great pride that the tenets laid in Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji are being followed with great dedication in the University. Dr. Pritpal Singh, the vice chancellor of the University also congratulated the Department and appreciated that the Department has created a respectable niche in the area for their service to mankind. He informed that the Department organises such camps even outside the University from time to time and offers free of cost OPD on daily basis at the University campus. Dr. S S Billing, Dean Academic Affairs,  Dr. Preet Kaur, Dean Students’ Welfare and Dr. Gurjinder Singh, Coordinator NSS were also present. Dr Supreet Bindra (Assistant Professor and Convener) for the camps thanked the University authorities, the team of specialists, staff and students of the department for the successful organization of the camp.
