Er. Baldev Singh Sran assumed charge as CMD PSPCL

Er. Baldev Singh Sran has played an important role for the all round development of the Punjab in power sector and PSPCL has achieved various miles stones during his previous tenure as CMD PSPCL. Keeping in view of his contribution and outstanding services for power sector, Punjab government has once again appointed him as CMD PSPCL. This was stated by Shri Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa Deputy Chief Minister Punjab on the charge taking ceremony of Er. Baldev Singh Sran as cmd pspcl here today.

On this occasion Shri Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa cabinet minister Punjab expressed that he hoped that Er. Baldev Singh Sran will serve the people of Punjab in his inimitable style and make all out efforts to provide better consumer service to people of Punjab.

After taking charge as CMD PSPCL Er.Baldev Singh Sran said that he will always remain committed to provide uninterrupted , reliable and cheaper power to the people of Punjab.

It is stated that Er.Baldev Singh Sran has once again assumed charge as chairman-cum-managing director of Punjab state Power Corporation limited here today. Punjab Government has appointed Er.Baldev Singh Sran as CMD PSPCL for second time His term is for one year and can be extended by another year.

He retired as CMD PSPCL on June 6,2020 after completing two years tenure. Er Baldev Singh Sran has created a history of its own in the state of Punjab, he is the only engineer of PSPCL who has been appointed CMD of PSPCL twice.

During his first tenure from June 2018 to June 2020, PSPCL witnessed reduction of AT&C losses and narrowing of ACS-ARR gap through optimization of cost of Power purchase including record sale of Surplus Power outside Punjab ( 2268 MUs/ Rs. 1183 Cr) & Record Banking of power ( 2018-19, Export 5000 MUs) leading to no short term power purchase. PSPCL loss was reduced to 38 Cr in 2018-19 from 907 Cr in 2017-18. National Level rating of PSPCL which was B+ for 2016-17 improved to A+ (Top Ranking) in 2018-19. Regular supply was given to all the categories of consumers and no power cut was imposed during 2018-19 and 2019-20.

On this occasion Shri Jatinder Goyal director Finance, Er.DPS Grewal director distribution ,Er.Gopal Sharma director commercial, Er.Paramjeet Singh director generation, Shri Gagandeep Singh Jalalpur director administration of PSPCL, Er. Yogesh Tandon director technical PSTCL and large number of HODs and representatives of various engineer bodies also graced the occasion.
