SGPC condemns attack on Sikhs in United States

Amritsar, April 13: Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) President Advocate S. Harjinder Singh expressing serious concern about the recent attack on two Sikhs in Richmond Hill, Queens area of New York in United States of America (USA), strongly condemned this hate crime.
S. Harjinder Singh said that recently on April 3, an elderly Sikh was also attacked and injured by some unknown persons in Richmond Hill area of New York and now in a fresh incident; two Sikhs have been attacked in the same area, which is highly unfortunate and deplorable.
He said the Sikh Qaum (community) prays for the welfare of all and it remains on the frontline on humanitarian grounds in case of any crisis in the entire world. He said the Sikh community residing abroad have greatly contributed to the progress of foreign countries.
“It is highly unfortunate and deplorable that hate crimes are taking place against the Sikhs”, said S. Harjinder Singh, while appealing to the Government of India to ensure safety of Sikhs residing in foreign countries.
