Youth Festival Pargaas Concluded at World University with all success
A two-day youth festival ‘ Pargaas-2022′ organized by Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib concluded today with power packed performances by the youth of Punjab. More than 1200 students from the different universities and colleges participated in different literary and cultural events.
Prof Dr. Ajaib Singh Brar, the pro Chancellor of the Univeristy said that such festivals give opportunity to the students to showcase their hidden talents in diverse fields. He said that every student must take part in such events. He added that such competitions give mental strength to the students to be successful in life. He said that the University is committed to promote art and culture is punjab in the young generation. He added that it is our duty to sensitise and associate our young generation to their cultural roots. The University will leave no stone unturned in this regard. While interacting with the students, the Vice Chancellor of the University Dr Pritpal Singh said that today’s youth is future of our country and hence it is very important that the legacy of our rich culture and tradition values are passed on to next generation.
The performance of Gatka was the main attraction of the day. Gidda, Bhangra, Malwai Gidha added fervour to the events while the folk songs, mimicry, skit, Natak, and turban tying sought huge participation.
Dr. Pritpal Singh honoured the winners with trophies and prizes and Dr. Prit Kaur, Dean Students’ Welfare, thanked all the dignitaries and management for making the festival a grand success. Chandigarh University, Gharua bagged the overall trophy.
