SGGS World University Conducted First Meeting Regarding the International Conference Series Dedicated to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib, under the patronage of the Vice Chancellor Dr. Prit Pal Singh, conducted the first meeting to plan out the framework of the international conference series dedicated to Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. The conference will be held every year on the theme “Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji: Contemporary Concerns”. Giving information about the aim of the conference, the Vice-Chancellor said that in this conference quality research papers on the bani imbibed in Sri Guru Granth Sahib, the philosophical, social and cultural concerns as well as linguistic and scientific aspects will be included. He said that besides the scholars from Punjab, outside state and international researchers and scholars may also present their papers.

The Dean Academic Affairs Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Billing said that to encourage participation in the conference, registration fees has been waived off. He said that the online facility will be provided for the scholars from states outside Punjab and international scholars, whereas the scholars from within the state will have to present their papers in the University campus.

In today’s meeting, the title of the conference, main theme and sub- themes of the Conference were discussed and it was decided that the two-day Conference will be held on March 2-3, 2023. The meeting was attended by Dr. Sikandar Singh, Dean Students’ Welfare and Head, Department of Punjabi, Dr. Ankdeep Kaur Attwal, Public Relations Officer and Head, Department of English, Dr. Kirandeep Kaur, Head Religious Studies Department, Dr. Hardev Singh, Religious Studies Department, Dr. Navshagan Kaur, Dr. Harneet Kaur, Dr. Narinder Kaur and Dr. Swarleen Kaur .
