Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University Organises Chetna March
A Gurmat Chetna march was organised by Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University in the memory of Mata Gujri ji and four Sahibzadas.
Prof. Pritpal Singh, Vice Chancellor of the University while talking to the media said that society need to take inspiration from the unique martyrdom of Mataji and Sahibzadas. The need of the hour is to imbibe Sikh values in young generation and to follow the path shown by the Sikh Gurus. He further added that religious discourses develop critical consciousness in an individual which makes one wiser. He said that this chetna march is a humble effort by the University to imbibe these values in its students. Prof. Sukhwinder Singh Billing, Dean Academic Affairs and Dr Sikander Singh, Dean Students’ Welfare joined the March. The march flagged off after seeking the blessings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji.
Earlier in the morning, the faculty and students of the University gathered together in the University Gurdwara Sahib and seeked the blessings of the almighty. ਦੇ recited Jap ji Sahib and Chaupai Sahib. Later, the students and staff of music department recited Gurbani kirtan. Chetna March started from the University gate and culminated at Gurudwara Fatehgarh Sahib amidst religious fervour. The students chanted hymns and religious slogans.
