World University Pays Homage to Mata Gujar Kaur ji and Chote Sahibzadas during Shaheedi Sabha

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University pays homage to Mata Gujari Ji, Baba Zoravar Singh Ji and Baba Fateh Singh Ji by organizing various service camps during the Shaheedi Sabha. Dr. PritpalSingh, the vice chancellor of the University while inaugurating the camps, shared with the media that the University is whole heartedly committed to the cause of education and to spread the pious message of the Sikh Gurus among the youngsters. He said the University believes in welfare of all and in serving humanity at large, particularly the needy and the poor. With this mandate, the focus of the University is to provide education to each and every student in the best possible way. He informed that at present more than 2500 students are studying under Post Matric scholarship in the University, besides this the University also provides scholarships worth crores to the meritorious students.

Dr. Prit Pal Singh informed that during the Sabha, World Cancer Care Charitable Society, England, in collaboration with the World University has started a three day Cancer check up and awareness camp. The doctors will make people aware about the symptoms and preventive measures against cancer, in this camp. Besides these, free eye check up camp, free Physiotherapy and Homeopathy camps, Turban tying training camp and the screening of religious documentaries have also been organised. He said that the dissemination of education is the most effective way of bringing in a social change. With this view, the University has organised a large scale book exhibition this year, in which more than thirty publishers have participated.

 

Dean Academic Affairs of the University Dr. Sukhwinder Singh Billing deliberating upon the vision of the University said that the main objective of these camps is to spread awareness among the masses, especially the youth so that they can be guided and inspired by the martyrdom of Mata Gurji Ji, Baba Zoravar Singh Ji, and Baba Fateh Singh Ji at Fatehgarh Sahib. The camps have been organised by the Students’ Welfare office under the deanship of Dr. Sikander Singh.
