World University Participated in Nagar Keertan on Last Day of the Shaheedi Sabha

Sri Guru Granth Sahib World University, Fatehgarh Sahib paid homage to the supreme sacrifice made by the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji: Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh, and Mata Gujri Ji. On this occasion various camps were organised which included free Cancer Care Camp, free Physiotherapy and Homeopathy camp, Book Exhibition, Turban Tying camp and Screening of documentary related to Sikhism. Besides this, a seminar dedicated to Mata Gujri ji, Baba Zorawar Singh and Baba Fateh Singh was organised. The students and staff of the University also organised a Chetna march on 23 December 2022.

 

On December 28, Dr. Prit Pal Singh, Vice-Chancellor, along with university staff and students participated in Nagar Kirtan. On this occasion Dr. Pritpal Singh while talking to the media, said that the main purpose of these camps organised by the University during the Shahidi Sabha, is to spread awareness about the Sikh heritage among the people who came from far away places, so that they can take inspiration and connect with their religion. He also said that the University considers it its duty to participate more in such social, religious and constructive activities from time to time, because the main purpose of establishing this University on the holy land of Fatehgarh Sahib is to preserve its rich heritage and culture.

 

Dr. Prit pal Singh informed that with the help of World Cancer Care Charitable Trust, England, the University organised a free Cancer-Care camp under the guidance of Dr. Kulwant Singh Dhaliwal, in which the check-up of more than one thousand patients was done. Also, the information about the prevention and cure of this deadly disease was also provided to the patients free of cost. In the Physiotherapy and Homeopathy camps, over one thousand patients were also treated free of cost. Over five hundred students participated in Turban Tying Training camps. He said that the book exhibition organized by the University received an overwhelming response from the sangat and more than three thousand people benefited from the book exhibition. During the Nagar Kirtan, the Gatka team of the University presented a mesmerized performance.
