One Day Seminar “Disposal of Criminal Cases without Trial” was Organized by Desh Bhagat University

A one day seminar was organized by the University School of Law, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh. The theme of the seminar was “Disposal of Criminal Cases without Trial”. The event was graced with the presence of Dr. Zora Singh, Honorable Chancellor of the University and Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor of the University. Prof. (Dr) Anuradha Chadha, Principal, University School of Law welcomed the dignitaries and S. Rajvir Singh Grewal, Advocate, Former President, District Bar Association, Fatehgarh Sahib was the guest speaker of the event.

S. Rajvir Singh Grewal shared his views with the students about the ways in which the criminal cases can be disposed of without trial and informed the students that code of Criminal Procedure 1973 is a Procedural Law providing mechanism in which manner the criminal trials are to be conducted on the basis of substantive Criminal Law.

Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, congratulated the department for organizing such an event. Dr. Singh said that in our institution, we value fairness and transparency in the legal system. We strive to educate our students on the importance of upholding these values and to prepare them to become ethical and effective lawyers who will serve their clients with integrity. Dr. Virender Singh, Vice Chancellor, Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President of the University was also present in the seminar.

At the end of the programme, Prof. (Dr) Anuradha Chadha, Principal, University School of Law presented the vote of thanks. The programme ended with National Anthem.
