DC Patiala unveils Punjab’s First Solar Tree
In an effort to add to the beauty of Patiala city, the Deputy Commissioner, Patiala Sakshi Sawhney, today unveiled a solar tree.
The tree is a state of the art green installation made of solar panels that generate 4.5 KWs of electricity everyday. The tree has been installed at Thikriwala Chowk and will be lit every evening.
The Tree has been gifted to the city of Patiala by Ms. Tanya Goyal & Carol Goyal of the Mogae from Mumbai, in the memory of Principal Shanta Dhablania, eminent educationist.
Ms. Tanya Goyal belongs to Patiala and studied here at Lady Fatima school and is an MBA from local Punjabi University.
The solar tree was commissioned by Mogae to Tata Power who have specially created the landmark installation.
The Mogae group have also been responsible for installation of the Murmurations sculpture at the Matka Chowk in Chandigarh
“The solar tree is a green addition to the Patiala landscape and I welcome the contribution of Tanya Goyal and Carol Goyal in perpetuating the memory of a noble citizen of the city,” said DC Patiala.
“We are looking to replicate this effort in Amritsar and in other cities of Punjab soon” said Tanya Goyal
