Patiala Development Authority PDA took action against four unauthorized colonies

On May 31, 2023, the Patiala Development Authority (PDA) under the supervision of the District Town Planner (Regulatory), Patiala, took action against four unauthorized colonies developed in violation of the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act, 1995 in District Patiala. These colonies, namely in Village Sandharsi, Mugalmajra, Lachhru Khurd and Baghaura in Sub-Tehsil Ghanaur and Tehsil Rajpura of District Patiala were demolished. Officials of PDA clarified that strict action will be taken against any unauthorized colony developed in the jurisdiction of PDA, Patiala to safeguard the public investments in these colonies and to prevent unregulated development in district Patiala. In Addition to these, several notices have also been issued to other colonizers for developing unauthorized colonies and if they fail to respond or provide necessary documents during the notice period, similar action will be taken against them and FIRs (First Information Reports) will be registered under the relevant sections of the Punjab Apartment and Property Regulation Act, 1995. During this operation Shri Paras Garg – Sub Divisional Engineer (Duty Magistrate), Shri Jagpreet Singh – Assistant Town Planner, Shri Rajeev Kumar – Sub Divisional Engineer, Shri Gurpreet Singh – Sub Divisional Engineer, Shri Sanjeev Kumar – Junior Engineer, Shri Munish Garg – Junior Engineer, Shri Gurpreet Singh – Junior Engineer, Shri Amarinder Singh – Junior Engineer and the police force were present.
