1993 ਬੈਚ ਦੇ ਆਈ.ਏ.ਐਸ. ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਅਨੁਰਾਗ ਵਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ 42ਵੇਂ ਮੁੱਖ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਦਾ ਕਾਰਜਭਾਰ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਲਿਆ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਵਾਂ ਅਹੁਦਾ ਮੁੱਖ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਬੀਤੇ ਦਿਨ ਸੇਵਾ ਮੁਕਤ ਹੋਏ ਵਿਜੈ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਜੰਜੂਆ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਨੀਅਰ ਸਿਵਲ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੰਭਾਲਿਆ। ਅਹੁਦਾ ਸੰਭਾਲਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਨੁਰਾਗ ਵਰਮਾ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਭਗਵੰਤ ਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਸਿਹਤ, ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਤੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ ਸਰਵਪੱਖੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਉਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਕੇਂਦਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਸੂਬਾ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਫ-ਸੁਥਰੀਆਂ, ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ, ਜਵਾਬਦੇਹੀ ਤੇ ਪਾਰਦਰਸ਼ੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਾਸਨਿਕ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਮੁਹੱਈਆ ਕਰਵਾਉਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਤਰਜੀਹ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।

A 1993-batch IAS officer, Anurag Verma, took charge as 42nd Chief Secretary of the state in the presence of outgoing Chief Secretary Vijay Kumar Janjua and other senior civil officers. After assuming the charge as Chief Secretary, Anurag Verma said that under the guidance of CM Bhagwant Mann he will accord top priority to provide clean, efficient, responsive and transparent administration besides giving major thrust to Health and Education sectors along with all round development of the state.
