Punjabi University have distributed 1.95 Crore cash prizes to the National and International players

Patiala 3rd June- Punjabi University Patiala has distributed the cash prizes worth 1.95 Crore to its players, who brought Laurels to the University at National and International Level in the session of 2015-2016. The function was organized under the Chairmanship Dr. Gurdeep Kaur Randhawa, Director Sports, Punjabi University Patiala, whereas Dr. B.S. Ghuman Vice Chancellor of the University came as Chief Guest and gave away the cash prizes in form of cheques to the winners. He also appreciated the sports department of the university alongwith sports organizers from various colleges of University, players and coaches for their hard work to uplift the standard of sports of University at National and International level. He further said that it is a matter of proud for our university to win MAKA Trophy, the most sports prestigious award, continuously tenth time. Dr. Gurdeep Kaur Randhawa presented a report of achievements of the players. On this occasion Dr. G.S. Batra, Dean Academics and controller examination, Prof. Manjit Singh Nijjar Registrar, Dr. R.S. Arora finance officer, Dr. Kulbir Singh Dhillon Dean Colleges, Dr. Tara Singh Dean Students, Executive Er. S. Manjit Singh and Dr. Jaspal Kaur Dean were also present.
Kayaking player Ravinderjit Kaur have awarded with the maximum cash prize of 2.45 Lac Rupees for her best achievements at National and International Level, whereas overall Trophy in the women section (Rajkumari Amrit Kaur) were presented to NCPE Chupki and overall Trophy of Men Section which was Yadwindra Trophy were awarded to Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala.
