SANTOKH SINGH’S MURDER CASE: AGTF IN JOIN OP WITH MOGA POLICE ARREST THREE SHOOTERS OF GOPI DALLEWALIA GANG

The ongoing drive against anti-social elements launched on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann got a major breakthrough after Punjab Police’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) in a joint operation with Moga Police solved the cold-blooded murder of Santokh Singh with the arrest of three shooters of Gopi Dallewalia gang, said Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Friday.

 

Those arrested have been identified as Nirmal Singh alias Nimma, Aprail Singh alias Shera and Jaskaran Singh alias Karan. Police teams have also recovered three .32 calibre pistols along with 10 live cartridges and a Hyundai Verna car, which was used in a crime, from their possession.

 

According to the information, four assailants shot dead Santokh Singh after barging into his house in Moga on July 16, 2023.

 

DGP Gaurav Yadav said that a team of AGTF under the supervision of ADGP Promod Ban, led by AIG AGTF Sandeep Goel along with Moga Police following reliable intel inputs have arrested the three persons, who are shooters and associated with the notorious Gopi Dallewalia gang, from the area of Mehatpur in Jalandhar.

 

He said that as per preliminary investigations, Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi Dallewalia and Gaurav Sharma alias Goru Bacha are the masterminds behind this gruesome murder. Gangster Gopi Dallewalia is a proclaimed offender with more than 12 criminal cases pertaining to murder, attempt to murder, extortion, Arms Act, etc have been registered against him, he added.

 

Giving more details, AIG Sandeep Goel said that the Police teams are on a manhunt to nab the remaining accused persons. Further investigations are on, he added.

 

A case FIR no. 155 dated 16/07/2023 was already registered under sections 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and section 25 of the Arms Act at Police Station City Moga.
