In an incident that could well become a topic of ridicule, the spear from the hands of a statue built in honour of India’s first gold medallist in Track & Field sports, Neeraj Chopra, was found missing after it was allegedly stolen. The statue, which is installed at the Sports City Promotion at Hapur Base, had the spear missing from the hands of the javelin champion. People were shocked to learn that the spear was stolen and the news soon spread like wild fire in the surrounding areas.
