PUNJAB:PATWARIS TO GET RS 18,000 AS TRAINING ALLOWANCE INSTEAD OF EXISTING RS 5000
In a major bonanza for the under training Patwaris, the Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Friday announced a threefold enhancement in the training allowance of these Patwaris from existing Rs 5000 to Rs 18,000 with immediate effect.
Addressing the gathering in a function to hand over recruitment letters to 710 newly inducted Patwaris, the Chief Minister said that this is the need of the hour to ensure that under training Patwaris discharge their duties in a smooth and hassle free manner. He said that Rs 5000 was too inadequate for these Patwaris who had come into service after clearing a tough competition due to which his government had taken this decision. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that there is no dearth of funds with the state government to ensure the well being of the employees of the Punjab government.
The Chief Minister exhorted the Patwaris to judiciously use their pen for the welfare of the people rather than harassing them. He bemoaned that it is unfortunate that some people have made it their habit to create inconvenience in the name of pen down strikes for supporting their corrupt colleagues. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this is unwarranted and undesirable as the state government will not make any compromise with the interests of the common man.
Taking a jibe over the obstinacy of the agitating Patwaris, the Chief Minister said that these people want to blackmail the state government by harassing the common man. However, he said that the government will not succumb to such theatrics at the cost of the interests of the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this is the government of the people and every effort will be made to ensure their well being.
The Chief Minister asked the Patwaris to use their pen for public welfare adding that they will be incentivised accordingly in the coming times. He said that pen down strikes have never done any benefit to anyone, so the newly inducted Patwaris should not indulge in such actions. Bhagwant Singh Mann categorically said that his government is committed to ensure smooth and hassle free services to people and no compromise will be made in this regard.
Announcing the recruitment of Patwaris annually on the lines of that of Police force, the Chief Minister said that the advertisement for the post of 586 new Patwaris will be issued soon. He said that the regular recruitment of Patwaris will streamline the functioning of the Revenue department on one hand and facilitate the people of state on the other. Similarly, Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the necessary formalities for making this recruitment drive a regular one from the coming times. The Chief Minister said that this is not merely a function to give appointment letters to youth but this is a historic event in terms of realizing the dream of transforming the state into Rangla Punjab. He said that the state government is committed to holistic development of the state and prosperity of its people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that no stone will be left unturned for this noble cause to ensure that Punjab emerges as the front ranking state in the country.
The Chief Minister said that it is a matter of great pride and satisfaction that the state government has hitherto provided more than 35,000 jobs to the youth in various departments of the state government. He said that it is a record as none of the previous governments have given so many jobs to youth especially in the first year. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that merit and transparency have been the twin pillars on the basis of which jobs have been given to the youth across the state.
Making a scathing attack on the opposition parties, the Chief Minister said that those who were living in palatial houses during their heydays of power have been ousted from the political scene of the state. He said that the state has witnessed the dawn of a new era as these people who were considered invincible have been shown the door by the people. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that due to this a change has been witnessed in Punjab and for the first time people centric decisions have acquired centre-stage in the process of governance.
The Chief Minister said that after assuming the charge of office he had laid thrust on regularizing the services of 12710 teachers by overcoming all the legal and administrative hiccups. Bhagwant Mann said that the motive was to ensure the secure future of teachers as he firmly believes that if the future of teachers is protected then only they can transform the destiny of the students. He said that the genuine problem of every employee will be solved for which the state government is already making all out efforts.
The Chief Minister said that ushering in an era of revolution in the state the Punjab government is all set to launch Schools of Eminence in the state. He said that a budget of Rs 68 crore has been released for setting up these schools and the first school will be dedicated to people on September 13. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this state of the art school will act as a catalyst in providing quality education to the students. Likewise, the Chief Minister said that in order to provide best healthcare facilities to the people the state government has opened 664 Aam Aadmi Clinics across the state. He said that these clinics have revolutionized the health care sector in the state as more than 95% of patients visiting these clinics daily recover from their ailments. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the Aam Aadmi Clinics clinics are acting as a cornerstone in the revamping of the healthcare system in Punjab as more than 50 lakh patients have been provided the facility of free medicines, diagnoses and clinical tests.
