Threat to kill PM, blow up Modi stadium, Security agencies on alert as email received
An email threatening to assassinate PM Narendra Modi and blow up the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad has had the central agencies on their toes. The sender also demanded the release of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi besides Rs 500 crore.
Mumbai police has been informed about the email on the basis of initial technical probe and efforts are on to trace the sender, sources said. The NIA is also looking into the matter besides the Gujarat police.
Mumbai police is learnt to have stepped up security as the city is set to host five World Cup matches at Wankhede Stadium. The mail, sources said, was received on Thursday morning and has been shared with police in different states
