Stubble Burning Patiala: Clarification regarding cancellation of Visas Passport of Farmers
It has come to the notice of Office of DC Patiala that there are certain media reports mis reporting that the DC Patiala has directed cancellation of visas or passports of farmers who burnt their stubble.
It is categorically stated that no such orders have been passed.
Rather, keeping in mind the best interest of farmers, the DC had advised farmers to contact the District Administration chatbot on +91-73800-16070 for booking crop residue management machinery instead of resorting to stubble burning and unnecessarily facing the consequences of non-payment of Environmental Compensation or Red Entry in revenue records – where they may be inconvenienced by having to go through the process of giving clarifications regarding the red entries or pending EC to whomsoever concerned.
