DBU Organized a Workshop on ‘Roast N Sip’

School of Hotel Management & Tourism, Institution’s Innovation Council and NSS wing of Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh jointly organized a workshop on tandoori flavors and ethnic beverages. The theme of the event was ‘Roast N Sip’. The main aim of the workshop was to skill students in preparing various tandoor cooked dishes and the ethnic beverages. The students participated with great zeal and enthusiasm. A variety of Vegetarian and Non-vegetarian dishes were prepared along with Indian ethnic beverages like Jaljeera, a variety of Lassi, Lemon soda etc. On this occasion Chef (Dr.) Aman Sharma and Chef Rinku Singh, Chef (Dr.) Aman Sharma was guest speakers.

Chef (Dr.) Aman Sharma explained about the history of tandoor cooking in Indian cuisine. Chef Rinku Singh explained the tandoor cooking techniques. Along with the students, faculty members of various departments also joined to acquire the skills. Mr. Amit Sachdeva, Head, School of Hotel Management addressed the students at the start of the workshop and said that the motive of such workshops is to instill the entrepreneurial mindset in the students. Dr. J. K. Sharma, Director IEDC also guided the students about various handholding schemes available in the University for Startups. Dr. L. S. Bedi, Dean Academic Affairs, Dr. R. K. Soni Dean Research & Dr. H. K. Sidhu, Director IQAC, Mr. Rakesh Ahlawat, Ms. Dilmanpreet, Mr. Sunny, Dr. Manpreet and Mr. Manmeet were also present.
