Award ceremony Organised at Desh Bhagat University

Faculty of Social Sciences, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh in Collaboration with Punjabi Sahit Sabha, Amloh and Bhasha Vibhag, Patiala organized an award ceremony. In this event S. Balbir Singh Mulanpur, President, Punjabi Sahit Sabha welcomed Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University as the chief guest and S. Amarjeet Singh Waraich, Former Director, All India Radio, Patiala Station, S. Gurdial Singh Roshan, S. Kamaljeet Neelon, renowned literary figure as the guest of honour and Dr. Davinder Kumar, Director, Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, Dr. Dharminder Singh, Deputy Director Research as the special guests of the event.

Dr. Zora Singh, Hon’ble Chancellor of the University congratulated the Punjabi Sahit Sabha for organizing this event and rewarded such renowned personalities. Dr. Singh expressed his happiness at being a part of such a prestigious event and congratulated all the awardees for the achievement.

Mrs. Jaspreet Kaur, Assistant Director, Bhasha Vibhag, Patiala thanked the organisers for the honour and congratulated his fellow awardees too.

Dr. Davinder Kumar, Director, said that under the aegis of Punjab Government’s plans to promote and strengthen Punjabi language and culture, DBU is also doing its bit by developing various cells named “Punjabi Bhasha Lok Dhara Sabhyachar Kendra” dedicated to the development of Punjabi language and culture. Dr. Dharminder Singh, Deputy Director Research congratulated all the personalities who have been facilitated today have also made valuable contributions to the Punjabi language and culture, for which Punjabi Sahit Sabha has honoured them with a shawl and cash prize of Rs 2100.

At the end, S. Jora Singh Grewal thanked the Chief Guest, special guests and all the writers who have participated and gave their valuable time in the event and presented the vote of thanks.
