Punjab:From December 10, People To Get 43 Citizen Centric Services At Their Doorsteps- CM Mann

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann on Thursday said that in order to provide the citizen centric services to the people at their doorsteps, the state government will launch ‘Bhagwant Mann Sarkar, Tuhade Dwaar’ scheme on December 10.

 

 

 

The Chief Minister, who conducted surprise checks at Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and Bassi Pathana Saanjh Kendras, said that the move is aimed at providing these services to people in a smooth and convenient manner. He said that this initiative will provide hassle-free and straight access to Government 2 Citizen (G2C) services by launch of the Door-Step Delivery (DSD). Bhagwant Singh Mann said that this initiative will bring all the 43 critical G2C services – such as Certificates of Birth and Deaths, Income, Residence, Caste, Pensions, Electricity Bill Payments and others right to the doorsteps of citizens across the state.

 

 

 

The Chief Minister said that the citizens can avail of the service by calling a dedicated helpline number 1076 and scheduling an appointment at their convenience. He said that citizens will be informed of the documents required, fees applicable and others for the service to be availed adding that citizens will receive an SMS with the list of documents required and date/ time of appointment. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that specially trained personnel will visit their homes/ offices at the scheduled time with Tablets and complete the necessary paperwork, collect fees and give an acknowledgement receipt with which the Citizen can track his application.

 

 

 

The Chief Minister said that this scheme will not only enhance the convenience of people but also eradicate the role of middlemen thereby bringing in transparency, efficiency and citizen-centric governance. He said that citizens can avail themselves of the DSD Service through both Sewa Kendras and the dedicated helpline number 1076 from December 10, 2023, onwards. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that every effort is being made to facilitate the people so that they can get their routine administrative works done easily.

 

 

 

The Chief Minister further said that elaborate arrangements will be made to facilitate the thousands of pilgrims coming annually to pay respect during Shaheedi Jor Mel. He said that this sacred land is a source of inspiration for not only Sikhs but the entire humanity as all of them converge here every year to pay respect to Chotta Sahibzadas and Mata Gujri on their martyrdom day. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government will leave no stone unturned to ensure that pilgrims do not face any sort of inconvenience during the Shaheedi Jor Mel.

 

 

 

The Chief Minister said that he will personally monitor this work to ensure that it is completed in a time bound manner. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that martyrdom of Sahibzada Zorawar Singh and Sahibzada Fateh Singh along with Mata Gujri ji at this pious land had since ages inspired Punjabis to fight against injustice, tyranny and oppression. He said that the supreme sacrifice made by the younger Sahibzadas at a tender age hardly finds any parallel in world history.

 

 

 

The Chief Minister said that as every year lakhs of pilgrims visit this place during the Shaheedi Sabha so the state government is giving a complete facelift to this town. He said that the state government is duty bound to facilitate the pilgrims coming to this sacred place. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that a viable mechanism will be put in place to ensure that no pilgrim faces any sort of problem during their visit.

 

 

 

The Chief Minister said that the month of December during which the entire family of Guru Gobind Singh ji was martyred is the month of mourning for the entire humanity. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government will not hold any function of joy and happiness from December 20-30. He said that this will be a humble tribute by the state government to the supreme sacrifice made by the family of Dashmesh Pitaah.
