PARDON IS FOR A MISTAKE, NOT FOR WILFULLY COMMITTING TREASON AND BETRAYAL WITH THE GURU: SANDHWAN TERMS SUKHBIR ‘S APOLOGY A FARCE AND POLITICAL CONSPIRACY

Calling it a desperate act necessitated by near-extinct SAD’s political compulsions, the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Thursday stated that pardon is sought for a mistake one commits in ignorance and for committing sacrilege with the pious Guru. “There can never be any pardon for an act of treason with the pious Guru Sahib, Sandhwan said reacting strongly to the Sukhbir Badal seeking apology for committing the most heinous act of disrespect to the Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.

It is to be seen what the motive of Sukhbir behind this is, Sandhwan asked adding that today’s apology seeking exercise meant nothing before the eyes and hearts of Sikh Sangat as the acts perpetrated by SAD regime against Sikh community are unpardonable.

In a press statement released here, the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker said that during the rule of SAD, a party which calls itself saviour of the Panth, there were a series of abominable acts perpetrated against our Guru and the regime kept itself aloof and did nothing to stop it, which infact emboldened the perpetrators.

The same Sukhbir was then the state home minister and it was their arrogance which made them disrespect the Guru. There were so many instances of sacrileges and they did nothing to hold the perpetrators accountable, Sandhwan added.

Castigating Sukhbir for now seeking apology for political motive, Sandwan asked him to explain to Sikh Sangat who would seek pardon for spraying bullets on Guru’s Sikhs seeking justice peacefully at Kotkapura. Who will seek pardon for martyring Guru’s Sikhs – Bhai Gurjit Singh and Bhai Krishan Bhagwan Singh – who were demanding justice for the Guru, but were killed by police in cold blood.

If Sukhbir is genuinely seeking apology he must first leave his political role and seek pardon from Sikh Sangat for his misdemeanours, Sandhwan said underlining that today’s apology is another separate ploy to snatch power and nothing else.
