Navjot Sidhu hands over job appointment letters to 5 kin of deceased employees of Ludhiana fire tragedy

November 20: The Local Government Minister, Punjab, Mr. Navjot Singh Sidhu here today at the Punjab Municipal Bhawan handed over job appointment letters to 5 kin of the deceased fire brigade employees killed in the chemical blast after fire in a private factory at Ludhiana.
The minister said that those given appointment letters today included Sahil Gill S/o Mr. Samaoun Gill (Sub Fire Officer), Tushar Sharma S/o Mr. Rajinder Kumar Sharma (Sub Fire Officer), Parminder Singh S/o Mr. Raj Kumar (Sub Fire Officer), Bhupinder Singh S/o Mr. Puran Singh (Leading Fireman) and Rekha Rani W/o Mr. Rajan (Fireman). The minister further said that the process to give jobs to the kin of rest of the 4 deceased employees is on and the appointment letters would be given soon.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sidhu said that during the fire tragedy that took place during the previous year at Ludhiana, the brave staff of the fire brigade didn’t care for their lives and performed their duty with extreme dedication and 9 officers/employees were martyred in the tragedy. He also said that inspite of the limited resources the services rendered by the fire personnel were exceptional. He also divulged that the kin of the martyred employees were given the financial assistance of Rs. 10 lakh and all their dues have also been given promptly. The victim families were also given the family pension on the priority basis.
Disclosing more, Mr. Sidhu said that the as per the directives of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh, works are going on war footing to ensure the rehabilitation of the victims of the recent rail tragedy at Amritsar. Whereas on one hand, the compensation amount has been disbursed to the victims, the jobs would also be given soon enough to the vicim families.
Mr. Sidhu further said that not only this, the 7 victim families who are not eligible for any job, would be given Rs. 8000 per month for the entire life from his own pocket.
