Directed by JIMPA to provide canal water project to villages in Hoshiarpur and adjoining Kandi areas

Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa has asked the top officials of the state government to provide canal water project to Hoshiarpur city and villages in adjoining Kandi areas.

During a meeting with senior officials of Water Supply and Sanitation, Local Bodies and Water Resources Department in his office, the minister discussed the continuously falling water level in Hoshiarpur city. He said that keeping in view the situation, canal water should be provided to the villages of Hoshiarpur and adjoining Kandi areas.

The proposal of Nahri Pani project by JIMPA was discussed in detail with the local bodies, water resources department and water supply department and it was also asked to give it practical form soon.

During the meeting, Principal Secretary of Water Supply and Sanitation Department Neelkanth Awad, Department Head Amit Talwar, Local Body Department Principal Secretary Deepti Uppal, Water Supply and Sanitation Department Chief Engineer (North) Jasbir Singh and Water Resources Department Chief Engineer Sher Singh. Various officers were involved.
