Students Make New Global Record in Yoga and Recitation of Shlokas

 

Desh Bhagat Ayurvedic College and Hospital Organized Shloka Recitation and Yoga Demonstration for Global Book of Excellence, England

Desh Bhagat Ayurvedic College and Hospital, under Desh Bhagat University, in collaboration with Global Book of Excellence England organized an event on Shloka Recitation Ashtanga Hridaya Anusheelanam and Yogasana Performance Bhujagshayanam Aasanviasah. Many world records were set in this spectacular event.

 

In the yoga segment, 22 first-year BAMS students performed 40 asanas in 13 minutes, setting a new record. Additionally, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Abhijit Joshi recited verses of Vishnu Sahasranamam. Moreover, 60 students recited verses from three chapters of Ashtanga Hridaya for 30 minutes, setting a new world record. The event was broadcast live in 37 countries. Sanjay Panjawani, Vice-President of the Global Book of Excellence, England, confirmed these achievements and highlighted another record set by VC Abhijit Joshi for a non-stop Shloka recitation lasting 10 minutes.

 

The program was graced by the Chancellor of DBU, Dr. Zora Singh, and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur. Delivering the welcome speech, Dr. Abhijit Joshi expressed that such an international event is happening for the first time in the country. Seven students were selected for the recitation of 30 chapters’ shlokas, including Aashna Sharma, Nazia Khatun, Piyush Rajan, Saurabh Nadda, Yogita Varma, Prathamesh, and Swanand Pawar. They will be honored by Shankaracharya on Dhanvantari Jayanti.

 

Dr. Zora Singh and Dr. Tajinder Kaur felicitated the students who presented the results of Ashtanga Hridaya and Bhujangasana Vilasa with certificates and medals. The event was witnessed live by Shankaracharya Ji (Karveer Peetham Kolhapur), Dr.Jayant Deo Pujari (Chairman NCISM), Dr.B.S Prasad (President Board of Ayurveda NCISM), Prof.Dr.Tanuja Nesri (Director AIIA) & other dignitaries.

 

On this occasion, Director Dr. Kulbhushan and Principal Dr. Smita Johar of Desh Bhagat Ayurvedic College and Hospital were also present. Dr. Jyoti Dhami hosted the event. The coordinators of the event were Dr.Anil Joshi, Dr.Mani Sharma, Jyoti Arora, and Saloni Nikam.
