College student attacked with sharp weapon at Palampur bus stop

Palampur, Apr 20 (UNI) A 21-year-old girl student was seriously injured in a Baizer incident at the Palampur bus stand, allegedly attacked by a youth with a sharp-edged weapon.

Kangra district Superintendent of Police Shailini Agnihotri told UNI on Saturday that a 28-year-old multipurpose worker, Summit, from Nagrota Bagwan, attacked a 21-year-old college girl in Palampur with a sharp-edged weapon, resulting in her serious injury. The incident occurred at the Palampur bus stand. Local people nabbed the attacker, Summit, and thrashed him.

SSP Shailini Agnihotri further said that the accused youth was arrested under Section 307 of the IPC for an attempt to murder.

The investigation revealed that the boy had been in contact with the girl for six years, but now she distanced herself and stopped calling Summit, which angered the accused, who attacked the girl.
