Independence Day Celebrations at Desh Bhagat University (DBU) Campus
Mandi Gobindgarh, 16 August : Desh Bhagat University (DBU) celebrated India’s 78th Independence Day with great enthusiasm at its campus. The event was marked by the hoisting of the national flag by the esteemed leadership of DBU, including Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Vice Chancellor Dr. Abhijit Joshi, Advisor Dr. Virinder Singh, Registrar Dr. Sudip Mukherjee and Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr. Rajiv. The event was graced by the presence of other dignitaries, staff, and students.
The university highlighted its commitment to excellence in academics, research and social responsibility. The gathering praised the event as a great learning experience for the students, beneficial for both their careers and imparting valuable social messages. The event also featured a parade that included all three wings of the NCC (National Cadet Corps).
Simultaneously, Desh Bhagat University participated in a grand Independence Day event at Amloh organised by Punjab government authorities, where the focus was on showcasing tableaus of technology, innovation, healthcare and diversity, under the theme of “Rangla Punjab.” The event attracted a massive gathering and was highly praised by attendees for its educational value and celebration of unity in diversity. The event also featured a parade that included all three wings of the NCC (National Cadet Corps).
The highlight of the Amloh event was the participation of international students who performed traditional Bhangra, adding a vibrant cultural element to the celebrations. Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President and Dr. Surjit Kaur Patheja, Director of Media, were the main organizers of this event. On this ocassion SDM Amloh Mr Karandeep Singh honored Dr Surjit Kaur Patheja, Dr Prabhjot Singh and Dr Jyoti Dhami for their educational, medical and social achievments. They expressed their gratitude to the students and staff for their efforts in creating the amazing tableaus and performances that made the event a success.
