Government Senior Secondary School of village Rajadhan to be named after Olympian Jarmanpreet Singh: Harbhajan Singh ETO

Visits his home in Rajdhan to congratulate him and his family

Punjab Power and Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO said here today that the Government Senior Secondary School of village Rajdhan will be renamed as “Olympian Jarmanpreet Singh Government Senior Secondary School” in honor of Hockey Olympian Jarmanpreet Singh. He said that he has written a request to the School and Higher Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains in this regard.

The Minister said that this gesture would recognize Jarmanpreet Singh’s outstanding contribution to the Indian hockey team, which recently won a bronze medal at the Paris Olympic Games. “As a resident of village Rajdhan under my constituency Jandiala Guru, Jarmanpreet Singh’s achievement is a source of immense pride for the constituency and Amritsar district”, he added.

Cabinet Minister ETO added, “It is a matter of pride for Jandiala Guru Constituency that among the players of the Indian hockey team, the village Rajdhan of Jarmanpreet Singh and the village Khalhera of Gurjant Singh fall in this constituency”. He said that Timmowal, the village of Indian Hockey team Captain Harmanpreet Singh, is also close to Jandiala Guru Constituency. “This has not only boosted the morale of the players of this area, but also inspired other youths of the area to take up sports”, he added.

Minister ETO also visited Jarmanpreet Singh’s home in village Rajdhan to extend his congratulations to the hockey star and his family, including his mother Kulwinder Kaur and father Balbir Singh.
