Seminar, lecture and exhibition organized on Hindi Diwas

Mandi Gobindgarh, September 14: Hindi Diwas celebration was organized by the Hindi Department of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages at Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh. The event included seminar, lecture and exhibition of posters made by the students and inauguration of wall magazine.

 

The program was organized under the patronage of Chancellor of the University Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur and in the presence of Director of Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages Prof. Dr. Davinder Kumar Sharma.

 

Guest speaker Dr. Chamkaur Singh, AS Mahila Mahavidyalaya Khanna, in his lecture, elaborated on the “importance of Hindi language in human values” and said that Hindi has kept human values alive, we all should learn and speak Hindi.

 

Head of Hindi Department Prof. Ajaypal Singh Shekhawat conducted the stage and said in his speech that Hindi is one of the most spoken languages in the world along with being the official language of India. Hindi language has a rich tradition of literature, music, and art. Hindi language is a symbol of Indian culture and civilization. Hindi language promotes the unity and integrity of the country. The flag of Hindi is now flying all over the world. Students Nikita, Lovepreet Kaur, Preet Kaur and Pooja also expressed their views on Hindi Day. In the end, Prof. Ram Singh Gurna expressed his gratitude. The coordinator of the program was Dr. Arvinder Kaur. On this occasion, an exhibition of posters made by the students was held and the wall magazine made under the direction of Prof. Kulbhushan Kumar was inaugurated by the Chancellor, Pro Chancellor and Director. On this occasion, Prof. Dharmendra Singh, Dr. Renu Sharma, Dr. Jyoti Sharma, Dr. Gurvinder Kaur, Dr. Rajdeep Kaur, Dr. Shubhdeep Kaur, Dr. Havaldar Bharti, Navninder Kaur, Gurjeet Singh, Manveer Singh, NCC DBU cadets and hundreds of students were present.
