Indian-origin man arrested for inciting hate, warrants against two others
Ranendra Lal Banerjee, a 57-year-old man from Toronto, was arrested and charged with public incitement of hatred, contrary to Section 319(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada. He was released with conditions and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton at a later date. Arrest warrants have also been issued by Peel Police for 24-year-old Armaan Gahlot and 22-year-old Arpit for inciting violence in connection with the Brampton protest. These arrests have not yet been made.
