Elephant turns violent during temple event in Malappuram; man flung into air
Kerala; An elephant named Pakkathu Sreekuttan ran amok during the Tirur Puthiyangadi festival, triggering chaos and leaving 17 people injured, including one in critical.
The incident occurred around 12:30 AM on the festival’s final day. The elephant, reportedly in musth, turned aggressive and flung a man, who is now in critical condition and undergoing treatment at MIMS Hospital, Kottakkal.
Most injuries resulted from the panic and stampede that followed. The mahout managed to bring the elephant under control by 2:15 AM, preventing further damage.
