Desh Bhagat University Celebrates the Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose

Mandi Gobindgarh, 23 January: The Desh Bhagat University proudly commemorated the birth anniversary of the legendary freedom fighter and national hero, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose today. The day was marked by a series of engaging and educational activities to honor his indomitable spirit, visionary leadership, and contributions to India’s independence movement.

The university’s Media Department organized an array of events, bringing together students, faculty, and staff in a collective effort to remember and celebrate the life of one of India’s most revered leaders.

The celebration began with a solemn tribute ceremony at the university campus, where a floral wreath was laid at the statue/portrait of Netaji. Students and faculty members observed a minute of silence in reverence to his sacrifices for the nation.

A guest lecture on Netaji’s role in the Indian National Army (INA) and his visionary leadership was delivered by Dr Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor of DBU who shed light on Netaji’s pivotal efforts in the fight for independence and his unwavering commitment to the nation.The lecture highlighted Netaji’s enduring legacy, especially his famous slogan, “Give me blood, and I shall give you freedom,” and its influence on India’s freedom movement.

“We are honored to celebrate the birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, whose bravery, leadership, and commitment to the cause of India’s independence continue to inspire us all,” said Dr Zora Singh Chancellor. “His ideals of unity, sacrifice, and patriotism are values that we strive to impart to our students, ensuring that his legacy lives on through our actions and aspirations.”

Dr Harsh Sadawarti, Vice President, Dr Surjit Kaur Patheja, Dr Arshdeep Singh, Mr Avtar Singh, Ms Jyoti and Rajdeep Man also paid tribute to freedom fighter and national hero.
