3% reservation for Punjab Govt employee in Plots & Flats

Chandigarh, November 28: Considering the long pending demand of state employees, the Local Government Minister Brahm Mohindra today announced 3 Percent Reservations in Plots and Flats for employees of State Government and others.
Giving further details, Mr. Brahm Mohindra reiterated that the Captain Amarinder Singh led Punjab Government is committed to the welfare of their employees and this initiative would give fruitful opportunity to employees to get the plots and flats under jurisdiction of the Department of Local Government. He also said that Punjab & Haryana High Court, Boards & Corporations owned and controlled by the State, Apex Institutions under the control of Department of Cooperation such as Markfed, Milkfed, Punjab State Cooperative Bank, Housefed and Universities funded by the State of Punjab are also eligible under this policy.
The Minister said that the applicant should have completed at least 5 years of regular Service or should have retired within the last five years from the date of commencement of these rules shall be eligible.
Mr. Brahm Mohindra added that the applicant should also not have ever been allotted residential plot or house as the case may be, under discretionary quota or on the basis of preference in any scheme. He said that the applicant must submit the application indicating date of joining or retirement after getting it certified from the concerned DDO of the department.
