Mandi Gobindgarh,16 February: Desh Bhagat University organized Alumni Meet-2025, a heartfelt and nostalgic event where former students reunited to share their success stories and fond memories of their alma mater. The gathering was filled with emotions as alumni reminisced about their time at the university and expressed their gratitude for the role it played in shaping their careers.
Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh, Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur, and President Dr. Sandeep Singh interacted with the alumni, offering words of wisdom and sharing insights on overcoming challenges to achieve success in life.
To celebrate the achievements of the alumni, current students showcased vibrant cultural performances, adding to the joyous atmosphere of the event.
Before this Desh Bhagat University hosted its grand annual convocation, celebrating the achievements of students who successfully completed their graduation and post-graduation programs. The event witnessed the presence of distinguished guests who motivated the students with their valuable words of wisdom.
The convocation ceremony was graced by Chief Guest Harbhajan Singh ETO,Minister of Power and PWD, Punjab, who inspired the students with an insightful speech, emphasizing the importance of education in shaping a bright future. He highlighted that this milestone marks a turning point in the lives of the graduates and encouraged them to strive for excellence in their respective fields.
In the presence of Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh,Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur and President of Desh Bhagat University Dr. Sandeep Singh degrees were conferred upon the students who successfully completed their courses. Additionally, outstanding students were honored with gold, silver, and bronze medals for their academic excellence.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest extended his heartfelt congratulations to all the graduates and wished them success in their future endeavors. He remarked, “Education fosters creativity, creativity leads to critical thinking, critical thinking results in knowledge, and knowledge makes individuals great.” He also lauded Desh Bhagat University’s remarkable contributions to the field of education, emphasizing how the institution provides world-class education that benefits students on a global level.
Several eminent personalities attended the event as Guests of Honor, extending their best wishes to the graduates.

Gian Singh Sandhu, visionary entrepreneur, philanthropist, and author, S. Hardev Singh, former Chief Administrator of PUDA, and OSD to cheif minister Punjab, Prof Mrs Medha Kulkarni MP Rajya Sabha and vice president Mehla Morcha BJP. were honored with doctor honoris causa. Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Sood, Vice-Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Punjab, Dr. Varinder Garg, OSD to the President of PGIMER (Union Health Minister, India) and Ms. Rehana Banu Ameer, London-based entrepreneur were awarded with chancellor’s distinguished leadership awadrs, They graced the occasion as special guests and extended their best wishes to the graduating students.
During the ceremony, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Abhijeet H. Joshi shared insights on the university’s achievements and presented a report detailing its progress in academics, co-curricular activities, and sports.
A special highlight of the program was the screening of a documentary film showcasing Desh Bhagat University’s growth and accomplishments.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Vice President Dr. Harsh Sadavarti, who expressed gratitude to the chief guest, dignitaries from various fields, and other distinguished attendees for making the event a grand success.
