Overall Trophy for Sports 2024-25 goes to Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages

Mandi Gobindgarh, 23 March: Desh Bhagat University’s Directorate of Sports successfully hosted its two days Annual Athletic Meet. The two-day event was a celebration of sportsmanship and athletic excellence, with enthusiastic participation from students, staff, and faculty members from various disciplines. The meet was a highlight in the university’s academic calendar, aiming to promote physical fitness, team spirit, and healthy competition among students.

The Annual Athletic Meet not only underscores the university’s commitment to the academic and physical development of its students but also serves as a platform for them to excel beyond the classroom.

The event featured a wide variety of athletic activities, including track and field events, relays, sprints, long jump, high jump, shot put, and other thrilling competitions. Students showcased impressive talent and sportsmanship in both individual and team events.

Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his address, he praised the enthusiasm of the students and highlighted the importance of promoting a fitness culture on campus.

Dr. Tejinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University, delivered an inspiring speech that focused on the importance of physical fitness in the holistic development of students.

Dr. Harsh Sadawarty,Vice President of the university, addressed the audience and stated that the Annual Athletic Meet had successfully brought together the entire university community.

The event concluded with a special awards ceremony, where Dr. Varinder Singh, Advisor to the Chancellor, honored the winners with medals, trophies, and certificates. Dr. Singh commended the hard work and dedication of the winners and praised the efforts of all students involved.
