Patiala: Update on Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath assault case
A petition was filed in the #Punjab and Haryana High Court by Colonel Pushpinder Singh seeking transfer of probe in the FIR registered by Patiala police in the assault case to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The Hon’ble High Court directed to the #Punjab Government as follows:-
◾The CCTV footage of the dhaba should be investigated.
◾The responsible police officers should be identified.
◾An explanation should be provided for the delay of eight days in filing the FIR.
◾If there was an investigation into whether police officers and personnel were intoxicated during the incident, the report should also be presented.
◾A response is to be submitted within two days. The High Court has issued notices to the Punjab Government and the CBI in the case.
◾One of the police constable also said in HC that he’s also injured, HC orders the same should also be investigated.
