Patiala: 1380 kg of Spurious Paneer recovered
Food Safety Team Patiala Seizes 1380 kg of Spurious Paneer
On a tip-off from the police, the Food Safety Team Patiala, led by District Health Officer (DHO) Dr. Gurpreet Kaur and Food Safety Officer (FSO) Ishan Bansal, seized approximately 1380 kg of spurious paneer and confiscated the entire stock.
The paneer was being transported from Haryana for sale in Punjab in a vehicle bearing registration number HR 55 AL 1436. The vehicle was intercepted at Police Post Kasturba Chonki, Rajpura, where two samples were taken for analysis, and the remaining 1378 kg was seized. Further action will be taken based on the laboratory test reports.
Acting on the strict directives of Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh, Commissioner of Food and Drugs Shri Dilraj Singh, and Deputy Commissioner Patiala Dr. Preeti Yadav, the team took swift action to prevent its distribution.
Authorities have reiterated their commitment to zero tolerance against spurious food operators, ensuring strict enforcement of food safety laws to protect public health.
