Patiala: 82 percent wheat arrival in district markets

82 percent of wheat has arrived in the mandis of Patiala district so far. This was revealed today by District Food and Civil Supplies Controller Dr. Rooppreet Kaur. Giving information about the wheat procurement, payment and lifting done so far, she said that this year the wheat has arrived in the mandis all at once and along with this, there has also been an increase in the procurement.

The District Food and Civil Supplies Controller said that last year the lifting of wheat was 1 lakh 53 thousand, while this year so far it has been 2 lakh 71 thousand metric tons, which is much higher than last year. He said that if the arrival of wheat in the district has increased, then the procurement and lifting have also increased a lot. He also said that the payment of the purchased goods of the farmers is being given to them within 24 hours.

Dr. Roop Preet Kaur said that this time all the agencies have paid 101 percent of the amount so far, exceeding the target, which shows that there has been a lot of speed in the procurement, lifting and payment of wheat in the district. She said that the Punjab government is committed to making the procurement process completely smooth throughout the season and no farmer, arhtiyas or laborers will be allowed to face any difficulty in the markets.
