DLSA Patiala Organizes SAATHI Campaign Camp to Support Destitute Children
Patiala, 4 July:
National Legal Services Authority has launched the SAATHI Campaign Document- “Survey for Adhaar and Access to Tracking & Holistic Inclusion”. This National Campaign aims to identify and support destitute children across the country by facilitating Aadhaar enrolment, legal aid and linkage to welfare schemes – ensuring no child is left without legal identity or access to rights and entitlements.
As per the directions of Punjab State Legal Services Authority, SAS Nagar and under the able guidance of Ms Rupinderjit Chahal, Learned District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairperson, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala, a camp was organized by District Legal Services Authority, Patiala under the SAATHI Campaign at Government Senior Secondary School, New Power House Colony, Rajpura Road, Patiala. During this camp, some children have been identified by Para Legal Volunteers who do not possess birth certificates or Aadhaar cards. These children are currently residing in Child Care Institutions or slum areas situated at Patiala. Out of children identified, total 55 children were got benefitted.
On this occasion, Ms Amandeep Kamboj, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala told that a Tree Plantation Drive “Each One – Plant One” is also in progress. Apart from this, awareness programmes are also being organized to sensitize the masses about environment protection related laws, free legal services; NALSA Helpline no. 15100, benefits of Permanent Lok Adalat (Public Utility Services) and Lok Adalats.
