Desh Bhagat University School of Nursing Celebrates Haryali Teej with Cultural Grandeur

Mandi Gobindgarh, 12 August : The School of Nursing at Desh Bhagat University celebrated the vibrant festival of Haryali Teej with great enthusiasm and cultural splendor, bringing together students, faculty, and staff to honor Punjab’s rich traditions and festive spirit.
The seminar hall was beautifully decorated with green buntings, floral arrangements, and traditional motifs, reflecting the essence of Haryali Teej—a celebration of nature, the monsoon season, and devotion. Women dressed in colorful ethnic attire added to the festive atmosphere, embodying the joy and vibrancy of the occasion.
The event began with a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony , followed by enthralling folk dance performances , including Giddha and Bhangra . A variety of engaging activities such as a mehndi competition , traditional singing , and a best-dressed contest were organized, further enriching the cultural experience.
Dr. Zora Singh , Chancellor, and Dr. Tajinder Kaur , Pro-Chancellor, graced the event as Chief Guests. They appreciated the efforts of the participants and emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting cultural values alongside academic excellence.
The celebration was successfully coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Prabhjot Singh , Deputy Director; Dr. Lovesampuranjot Kaur , Principal; and Prof. Sukhwinder Kaur , Vice Principal. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions.
In her closing remarks, Dr. Tajinder Kaur commended the organizing team and students for hosting a memorable event that beautifully showcased the cultural heritage of Punjab.

Mandi Gobindgarh, August 12 : The festival of Hariyali Teej was celebrated with great enthusiasm and traditional fervor at Desh Bhagat University School of Nursing. Students, teachers and staff came together to honor the rich cultural heritage of Punjab in this event.
The seminar hall was decorated with flowers and traditional motifs, reflecting the essence of Hariyali Teej, a celebration of savannah, nature and devotion. Students dressed in colorful costumes made the occasion even more lively.
The event began with a lamp lighting ceremony, followed by captivating folk dance performances including Gidda and Bhangra. Activities like mehndi competition, traditional singing and best costume competition added to the excitement.
During this time Chancellor of Desh Bhagat University Dr. Zora Singh and Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur graced the occasion as the chief guest and praised the participants and encouraged the students to take up cultural activities along with education.
This function was organized by Deputy Director Dr. Prabhjot Singh, Principal Dr. Lavasampuranjot Kaur and Vice Principal Prof. Done under the guidance of Sukhwinder Kaur.
Prizes were given to the winners on this occasion and Dr. Tajinder Kaur lauded the faculty and students for organizing a memorable program that preserves the cultural heritage of Punjab.
