Desh Bhagat University Welcomes Delegation from the High Commission of Papua New Guinea

Mandi Gobindgarh, 7 September: Desh Bhagat University (NAAC A+) extended a warm welcome to a distinguished delegation from the High Commission of Papua New Guinea, led by H.E. Mr. Vincent W. Sumale, High Commissioner, accompanied by Mr. Philibert Keaike, First Secretary, and Mr. Barun Mukherjee, Finance Officer.

The delegation was received by Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, and Dr. Harsh Sadawarti, Vice-Chancellor, along with members of the senior management team and students from Papua New Guinea studying at the university.

During the visit, the High Commissioner appreciated Desh Bhagat University’s inclusive academic, Healthcare environment and its strong student support initiatives. The meeting featured productive discussions on enhancing educational collaboration and exploring the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen academic and cultural ties between Desh Bhagat University and Papua New Guinea.

Students from Papua New Guinea, along with students from various states of India, presented vibrant cultural performances featuring traditional songs and dances that celebrated friendship, diversity, and unity.

H.E. Mr. Vincent W. Sumale, together with Mr. Philibert Keaike and Mr. Barun Mukherjee, interacted warmly with the Papua New Guinean student community, applauding their achievements and encouraging them to continue excelling in their academic pursuits.

The event reflected Desh Bhagat University’s commitment to fostering a global and inclusive learning environment, where cultures come together through education, art, and mutual respect.
