DBU University School of Law organises Legal Aid Awareness Camp on “Protection from Cyber Crime”

Mandi Gobindgarh, 10 October: The University School of Law, Desh Bhagat University, Mandi Gobindgarh, successfully organized a Legal Aid Awareness Camp on the theme “Government Policies on Protection from Cyber Crime” at Village Kaul, District Patiala (Punjab).

 

A total of 55 students from the Department of Law actively participated in the camp. The initiative was ably coordinated by Dr. Prabhjot Kaur Ghuman, Dr. Arti, and Ms. Manpreet Kaur Hayer, esteemed faculty members of the Faculty of Legal Studies.

The primary objective of the camp was to educate villagers about cybercrime prevention, online safety protocols, and various government policies aimed at safeguarding citizens from digital threats. Law students engaged with the local residents and disseminated vital information on key topics such as cyber fraud prevention, responsible use of digital platforms, and the importance of reporting cyber incidents to relevant authorities.

 

Sarpanch Mr Pinka of Village Kaul lauded the efforts of the participating students, commending their dedication to spreading crucial awareness and delivering practical knowledge on the growing concerns of cyber security.

 

The initiative received heartfelt appreciation and encouragement from the Hon’ble Chancellor Dr. Zora Singh and Hon’ble Pro-Chancellor Dr. Tajinder Kaur of Desh Bhagat University, who extended their best wishes to the team and acknowledged the significance of such outreach programs in promoting legal literacy at the grassroots level.

 

The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a collective pledge to continue promoting awareness on cyber safety and legal rights, especially among rural populations.
