Inauguration of the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) Cell at Desh Bhagat University

Mandi Gobindgarh, November 22: The Department of Business Management and Commerce, Desh Bhagat University, proudly organized the inauguration of EDP Cell, which was a major stride toward nurturing innovation, entrepreneurial thinking and skill development among students.

 

The programme began with a graceful floral welcome followed by a traditional lamp-lighting ceremony, signifying enlightenment of knowledge, wisdom and new beginnings.

 

Dr. Tavneet K. Reen, Assistant Professor, welcomed the dignitaries, resource persons, faculty members, and students. This was followed by an engaging address by Dr. Rajni Saluja, Director and Head of the Department, who talked about the vision behind the EDP Cell and highlighted the increasing importance of entrepreneurial education in today’s rapidly changing global scenario.

 

It was formally inaugurated with dignitaries Dr. Zora Singh, Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University; Dr. Sandeep Singh, President and Pro-Vice Chancellor (Research, Innovation & Consultancy) Dr. Buta Singh Sidhu along with senior academic leaders, distinguished speakers, and faculty members. Their presence made the occasion all the more enriching.

 

Expert talks on Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Startups, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) were delivered in the inaugural sessions with eminent speakers: Mr. Deepak Garg, CEO, Vibgyor Solution, Chandigarh; Dr. Shweta Sen Thalwal, Director Integrum IP, Chandigarh; and Dr. Tulika Mehta, Founder Director, Kaizen Systems, Chandigarh.

 

Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Dr. Manoj Kumar, and Mr. Manmeet Singh introduced the speakers in detail, presenting the audience with important aspects of their professional achievements and expert knowledge.

 

The programme ended with a highly interactive Q&A session wherein the ideas and queries of students were enthusiastically elicited, thus making the discussions engaging, insightful, and enriching. The event drew to a close with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Manoj Kumar, Assistant Professor. He appreciated the invaluable contributions of all dignitaries and resource persons, faculty members including Dr. Baldeep Singh, Dr. Manpreet Kaur, Mr. Manmeet Singh, Mr. Arshdeep Singh, and Ms. Gurjit Kaur and the dedicated student volunteers for their efforts in making the event a grand success.
