To mark the 350th Martyrdom Day of Hind DI Chadar Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji the grand Nagar Kirtan that commenced on Nov 20 from Gurdwara Tap Asthan Sant Baba Hari Singh Ji in Gurdaspur concluded today at Sri Anandpur Sahib. Upon its arrival, the Nagar Kirtan was warmly welcomed by Cabinet Ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Harbhajan Singh ETO with a shower of flowers. The magnificently decorated procession featured the beautifully adorned Palki Sahib carrying the eternal Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji under a canopy, led by the revered Panj Pyare and the Nishan Sahib. Rupnagar District Administration gave a grand reception to procession and the local Sangat upon reaching the birthplace of the Khalsa, Sri Anandpur Sahib.

On this occasion, Cabinet Ministers Harjot Singh Bains and Harbhajan Singh ETO honored the Panj Pyare Sahibaan and Panj Nishanchis of the Nagar Kirtan with ceremonial robes (Siropa). After paying obeisance at Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib, the Ministers respectfully escorted Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to Gurdwara Sri Sis Ganj Sahib for ceremonial placement.

Sant Baba Kashmir Singh Bhuriwale and several other religious organizations and associations from across Punjab extended their full support to the Nagar Kirtan that journeyed from Gurdaspur to Sri Anandpur Sahib.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab Government organized this grand religious procession with the cooperation of the sangat. The Nagar Kirtan, which began in Gurdaspur on Nov 20, passed through Baba Bakala, Sri Amritsar Sahib, Tarn Taran, Sri Khadoor Sahib, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Phagwara, Banga, Nawanshahr, Tibi Sahib Ropar and Nurpur Bedi before culminating at Sri Anandpur Sahib.

During the event, the youth of Misal Sri Harkrishan Sahib Gatka Akhara, Amritsar, under the supervision of Ustad Sukhminder Singh, displayed remarkable skills in Gatka martial art.

It is also worth mentioning that the Nagar Kirtan was scheduled to reach Sri Anandpur Sahib at 6 PM on November 22, 2025. However, due to the enthusiastic welcome accorded by Sangat at various villages and towns along the route, the procession reached its destination 12 hours later than planned.
